For many clients, the most intimidating part of booking an intimate portrait experience is simply not knowing what to expect.

What should I wear?

Will I know how to pose?

What if I feel nervous?

What if I've never done anything like this before?

Those questions are completely normal, which is why preparation is part of the experience rather than something you're expected to navigate alone.

Before your session, we talk through wardrobe, styling and the direction you envision for your portraits.

You might be drawn to something soft and luminous. Perhaps you want imagery that feels dark, dramatic and cinematic. Maybe you imagine something elegant and understated—or something considerably bolder.

There isn't one version of what an intimate portrait should look like.

The experience begins by discovering what yours should feel like.

YOU ARE NOT EXPECTED TO KNOW HOW TO POSE

One of the things we want clients to understand before walking through our doors is simple:

You do not need modeling experience.

You don't need to practice poses in front of a mirror or arrive knowing what to do with your hands.

That's our responsibility.

Angel guides you throughout the photography—from body position and expression to the smallest adjustments of your hands, shoulders and face.

Those small details matter.

A slight shift in posture can change the energy of a portrait. A turn toward the light can completely reshape an image. Sometimes the difference between a photograph that feels posed and one that feels effortless is only a few inches.

The direction is intentional, but it should never feel like you're being asked to perform.

Your portraits are personal. How they are shared—or whether they are shared at all—is a decision that belongs to you.

THERE IS NO SINGLE WAY TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED

Some clients arrive imagining lace, softness and romantic light.

Others are drawn toward shadows, dramatic styling, black and white portraiture or something more provocative.

And sometimes the photographs a client responds to most strongly are completely different from what they imagined before the session.

That's part of the creative process.

The Intimate isn't built around reproducing the same photographs for every person who walks through the door.
